Sandra your words have me in tears. I am so heartbroken for you. I know how much you love Gracie and from all those smiling pictures I saw of her, she loved you too!!! My biggest warmest hugs to you and Steve and Lillian. My love to you all.
Sandra, I am in tears again. My heart is broken for you, Steve and Lillian – and also for those of us that came to love her, seeing her through your eyes and words. Her life was filled with love, and yes, I believe she will always be your shadow, until you meet again at the Bridge. Much love, Liz (Dixie)
Dear Sandra and Steve, I’m so so sorry about Gracie. Your tribute to her was beautiful, and your love for her shone brightly through your photos of her. I hope Lillian will be OK.
Dear Sandra, I have been reading this with tears freely flowing having lost many precious friends over the years. Gracie was so well loved and gave back so much in return the photos and videos you posted always brightened my day, Lara and I send our love and know Gracie is well loved and looked after as the sweet companion that she was to you and Steve and Lillian.
Love and hugs to you.
Jackie & Lara
Dear Sandra,
I am shocked and heartbroken…I am crying over this devastating news.
The way I got to know Gracie is through the wonderful joy you shared about her. She truly lives on through your art.
Richard and I send our deepest sympathy to you, Steve and Lillian…our thoughts are with all of you.
Love,
Lois
Sandy, I cry every time I read something about Gracie. I so wish I could have met her personally but felt like all of Gracie’s many fans that I knew her through the photos & videos you shared. She was the most photogenic child….I just loved that sweet, precious face. And, her personality was just darling…..so curious & adventuresome. My heart is just broken for you, Steve & Lillian. You are constantly in my thoughts & prayers.
My heart breaks for you both at the loss of Gracie. If only dogs could live as long as people….
I was going to write to you next week to tell you that Chadwick is very well and happy and will be 10 years old this month. He is still agile and energetic and charming. He is my sweet old bear and I do all I can to make his life a good one. I cannot thank you both enough for allowing me to share my life with him.
Thank you all so incredibly much for stopping in and taking the time to comment. As you all know, this is not just a blog…this is my extended family and my passions, including the dogs are the center of my life, my art and my world. Each of you have grown along with me in my art, photography, family …and our dogs in a way have become "your" dogs too.
Your genuine compassion and caring mean the world to us right now as it shows how many lives this little soul has touched in her 2 short years on this earth, but also reaffirms that I have surrounded myself with the most incredible extended family a woman could ask for.
Yes, Gracie will always live on by my side, under my feet, and in our hearts forever. Bless her sweet sweet soul. So many tears!!!!!.
Lynn, give Chadwick a huge bear hug for me. I am so thrilled to hear from you an will pass along your news to Tony and Diana. Thank you for giving Chad such a blessed and wonderful life!!!! I wish we lived closer. Lil would love a buddy to play with again.
I am so saddened by your loss. Poor dear Gracie! We lost one of our rescues, a chow probably around 17 years old, earlier this month and we are still grieving even though we only had Shadow for 7 months. We still have 4 other rescued chows, all black. They seem to show up at shelters here fairly often. I hope you will get another chow. Althought they never take the place of one that is lost at least you will be giving a great home to a loving dog. Chows are so misunderstood by many people. While I love all dogs I will have to say that chows are my favorite — even though I have 2 Husky grand dogs!
Hi Auntie Sandra & Uncle Steve and my “special ” friend Lillian .. Well, I leave in Italy and is soooo sad and so far away !!!!!! I can’t come over and hug you all and play with my friend Lillian in the garden so she would feel less sad !!!!!!!

They will have one American judge.. Mr. George D. Boulton and Mr Rodney Oldham from the UK..

Sandra: Steve and I are so saddened to hear of your loss. Gracie was obviously very special. We know the pain when you lose such a dear, dear companion. We still have such fond memories of our Cleopatra that we lost when she was only 6 months old. Thanks to you, we have our Sammy. Our hearts and love go out to you. Steve and Judy Page
Thank you Karen, Steve and Judy, Shirin and Helene and Beverly. We are missing our girl even more now than the day she left us. We knew she was special but didn't realize just how central she was to Steve, Lillian, and my daily life until she wasn't there. Her pure sweetness and sense of humor are missed beyond words.
Judy, how is Sammy doing? I misplaced your email somewhere along the line and think of you guys often. Would love to see a photo of him (and Lynn…would love one of Chad) if you get a chance. Hugs to the chowdren!!!!!
Dearest Sandra, my heart aches with your heart, for your loss and I am so so sorry.
Words fail in times like these but know this loss is temporary. We will all be together again someday. for I believe our God would not withhold one pet/friend that is that close to our heart and happiness in the eternal time to come. No more tears and no more goodbyes there.
Gracie was so extra extraordinary and special. She gave joy to you and through you joy to many of us through her outragious cuteness, and many adventures. You gave her the best life she could have here, and she was blessed to have you love her so much so all she knew was joy.
May God’s love surround you and Steve and I hope you feel the love and hugs from all your friends at this time.
Love and hugs, Connie
Hi Sandra! Sammy is great–always entertaining and very smart. He is our baby boy, even though he will be 9 years old in October. He is still very active and loves his runs and walks. He is the favorite in the neighborhood–everyone loves Sammy! I wish I could send you pictures because he is beautiful, but so camera shy. He turns and runs every time we try to take a picture. I’ll see if I can find a recent one to send. We saw Marthat Strewart’s Chow that just won best of breed at Westminster. His coloring is almost identical to Sammy’s. Did you see the picture of Martha’s Chow sitting at the table in the Plaza Hotel?? Pretty cute!! It is so good to hear from you. Steve and I have enjoyed following all of your travels and adventures. We are still thinking about Gracie–she’ll always be very special. Love Judy
I’m so sorry for your loss! My first Chow died for no apparent reason in her sleep when she was only five years old! It was devastating for me and my daughter! I can honestly say I understand how you feel and how sad you must be! Chows are so very special! I’ve followed your adventures, blog, jewelry and photography for years and was so sad to learn about your precious puppy! I am so deeply sorry for your loss …

Sandra,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Gracie. I am in tears.
She was so beautiful and sweet. There is always something special about dogs named Gracie.
I am thinking that your Gracie & my Gracie are playing together at the rainbow bridge.
I am so glad that you have Lillian to comfort you.
Hugs,
Karen
