CHARTING NEW TERRITORY…OCEAN FISHING

ABOVE: THIS IS STEVES NEPHEW “ANDERS” LOOKING QUITE THE SPORTSMAN

We certainly  had a full day today, getting up at 4:30 AM to meet with our fishing boat captain for a 5 hour bottom fishing excursion.  We had initially set out to do salmon fishing but the salmon were not cooperating so we went for Rock Fish and Ling Cod.  I sat in as photographer and watched Steve and his family fish and recorded the fun!

STEVES NIECE “ANNELISE” GETS THE FIRST CATCH OF THE DAY.

Everyone on the boat caught something and Annelise managed to catch 3 large rockfish in a row while her brothers and parents were still jigging empty lines.   Annelise is NOT the fisherman in the family but might be now (BTW..she prefers to not eat em…just catch em..lol)

ANOTHER OF STEVES GREAT NEPHEWS “ERIC” CAUGHT HIS SHARE AND ADDED THEM TO THE BOX O FISH!

“BEN” IS THE OLDEST OF THE 4 AND CAUGHT A NUMBER OF LARGER FISH

THIS IS AN ORANGE “ROCKFISH”..THE SAME AS THE OTHERS BUT IN A UNIQUE COLOR.  WE WERE CATCHING A NUMBER OF THEM BUT IT IS REQUIRED THEY BE RETURNED BACK TO THE SEA

And where were Steve and I for half the trip…with our heads in our hands trying to keep our cookies down!!! We both lost the battle chumming over the deck railings,  but still had a great time no matter what

Below find the rest of the day’s photos in this slide show I put together!!!!  Tomorrow we hope the weather cooperates for whale watching and kite flying!!!!!
