Gokouun o inorimasa..Good Luck Shibas!!

One of the hardest kind of secrets for me to keep are  when I do commissions for gifts or for awards.  They almost always involve zipping my lips for months into well over a year in the case of dog show trophies!!

Well this is one secret that can now be let out!!  Today begins the SHIBA INU NATIONAL SPECIALTY

right here in the Pacific NW, and I had the honor of being asked to design their trophy artwork and logo.  Years ago I also did their major awards, which is thrilling because I adore this breed

“CASCADING SHIBAS” logo by Sandra Miller

Above is the logo I designed to echo the Region’s theme this year “CASCADING SHIBAS” which references the Cascade mountain range with Mount Rainier prominently in the background.  Thank you Laura Perkinson of Taichung Shibas for providing the beautiful models for this fun  painting!!

SHIBA INU NATIONAL SPECIALTY TROPHY (BUTTERFLY VERSION)

Above is one of TWO paintings I created to use on trophies.  I believe they used the butterfly version for the girls, and the dragonfly version for the boys.  I will need to check and hope someone takes photos so I can post them here later!!

Then there is the auction!!!  For those who don’t attend dog shows, a breed’s National, is like a yearly convention for any given hobby.  Awards banquets, auctions and fundraisers, parties..they are all a big part of the fun!  This one of a kind Shiba necklace I call “Morning Tea” was donated to the  Shiba auction as well as a framed and signed print of the artwork below

Closeup detail of the matte finish black onyx triangles and the crackled/dyed agate beads

Limited Edition  print donated to the Auction

Good luck, and safe and happy travels to all those attending the Specialty, and Thank You  to the show committee and Laura Perkinson for giving me this opportunity to create for your event!!  It was pure pleasure!

PS….IF YOU HAVEN’T CLICKED THE LITTLE RED BAG RECENTLY THERE ARE NEW SURPRISES UNDER THE AVAILABLE JEWELRY LINK!!  MORE ON THE WAY OVER THE WEEKEND AND NEXT WEEK.

Love the picture of Gracie in her Halloween costume. The pictures are beautiful and that necklace is amazing. There will be some happy Shiba people Sandra!
