The newlyweds and immediate family
Nothing makes a mom happier than to see her son this happy too!!
The reception was awesome!! Kates mom made these table runners from yummy leaf print fabric!
I wanted to post more photos but only have a few Iphoto images you see above that will load to the blog..having a slight techincal difficulty but will fill you in more in about 12 hours when we arrive in Amsterdam.
We have an 8 hour layover there and access to the World Perks lounge (woo hoo) so will have WIFI up the wazoo to blog to my hearts content !!! Can’t wait to raid the cheese bar in the airport. My friend Jan in PDX knows only too well the extremely aged gouda we love to bring home ever time we pass through Amsterdam. Jan, get your water crackers ready. In less than a month we will pass through again and get all cheesed up for the flight home!

Hi Sandra,
Congratulate your son and his bride for me. I love the pictures. That porcelain bowl your mother made was absolutely beautiful. Enjoy your trip.
Karen
Congrats to the Bride & Groom. Just something about an outdoor wedding…they are always beautiful!
Love the bowl your Mom made, talent runs in the Family apparently because it is quite lovely!
Safe Trip!
Hi Sandy and Steve,
Bryan does look happy – and it must have been a very emotional day for you Sandy. You are right about the Gouda – almost worth a trip to Amersterdam to get it. And that bowl your mother made is beautiful – it looks like one you could have done! Love the photo of her with her dog.
Looking forward to the next installment. Love—–Jan
hey!!! what wonderful pics but you gotta do better than that!! I wanna see close ups of everyone and see if you have your hair curly and just what that whopper of a pendant looks like. what a wonderfully down home setting. i love the white chairs and the table setting and the country feel. a glorious start to a great life. Bryan looks very happy…everyone looks happy and your mom is so cute with her little lulu….and wow!!! i covet that bowl!!! i can imagine a set of bowls like that…..with some wildflowers floating. does your mom sell her porcelain ware anymore? cant wait for more and hope your flight goes well. i can just taste the gouda. mmmmmmmmmmmmm. gotta go get a snack now. be safe and keep sending pics!!! love to you both,,,,,kathe
Nothing like going to your son’s wedding. Its sad but wonderful all in one. The photos are wonderful as always and I adore the bowl your mom gave you. Have a wonderful trip guys!
Hugs, bonnie
Hey there sweetnesses!!!! I love seeing all your smiling fonts here to greet us after that long flight to Amsterdam!!! I will pass on those kudos to Bryan and Kate and to my mom about her bowl too!! Mom and I spent a brainstorming day plotting something VERY awesome for some future pendants which involves both of our porcelain and glass skills . I can’t wait to fill you in on the new goodies in store when I return home. Mom is PUMPED UPand ready to work as a team again like we did for years on the dolls etc.
I am running out to time and need to sign off so I apologize for the short post and not anwering your comments each directly. I’ll fill in the blanks when I get on a real connection tho!!!
Geeze only 5 hours left of our 8 hour layover…zoiks I’m so bored..lol!! At least we have use of the KLM lounge. OMG it’s gorgeous in here!! All sorts of stylized furniture and funky art. I’ll get some pix with the iphone!!
I agree with Kathleen…I’d love to see some close-ups from the wedding…that necklace of yours looks intriguing 🙂 You must have had a fabulous time! Everyone looks so happy 🙂 On another note, you are soooo lucky that your Mom gave you such a GORGEOUS piece of pottery! I used to throw many years ago and seeing your mom’s work makes me want to run to a wheel again.
Great beginnings to a super trip!
Lots of Love, Lois
Congrats, and a beautiful setting for the wedding. I am also excited about your trip, as I get to take a moment from the schedule to see all the beautiful places you go. Maybe in retirement, lol, you never will, you and Steve could be travel guides!! Have a magical trip!! Love, nm
Hey Lois!!! Oh yes…lots of closeups will be posted when I get home and a few more during the trip. I left my main memory cards from the wedding at home so as not to risk losing all those precious memories on the trip “just in case”. Guarding those teeny cards is a full time job with we travel. We now back each up as we go by burning them to a disk at a camera store for safe keeping!!
Can you belive that bowl was not done on a wheel? Mom hand shaped that bowl …CRAZY~~ I have photos of some other pieces she’s been working on too. It’s something to see how things come full circle from her and my dad’s “Ceramics by Messer” business on the plains of ND. Now it’s mom and I who toss around clay and glass ideas just like her and dad did. I can’t wait to show you all more weding pix and pottery!! Thanks for stopping in Lois!! This totally helps me pass the time!
Of all things, I came down with a nasty head cold and tummy thing today. I felt it coming on yesterday. It’s just a “cold” but DANG!! Tomorrow is sitting in the sun day and try to bake it off!!
Hi Nan!!! You sneeked in while I was responding to Lois!! LOL! You know I thought about starting a small travel group and call it “The Flying Blind” Travel Agency….our motto…..”We just wing it”
hee hee hee…….I actually thought pretty seriously about it but need to hand over more of my marbles to get away with another major project like that!!! (but when has loss of marbles ever stopped me before..lol
Give kissies to the Chowdren and Terri of course!!! We luv ya!!!!
Just kiddin about the wedding photos. im impatient, thats all. i know you will share all the good stuff when you get home and its a great idea not to carry those cards with you……i have lost them right in my own home. they are so small!!! can you catch a few zzzzzz’s in that lounge? maybe that will help your cold. of all things!!!! my moms old saying…..”bake in the sun to get rid of that cold”. my mom thinks the sun cures everything. maybe it does, to an extent. do the travel group! how clever!!! you may need to wait til you have a long stretch of time without travel….but then, you do art!!! we need more hours in the day, and a clone to work while we sleep!!! so great to see your mom excited about some new and ventures!!! that will surely keep her young!!! nothing better than creativity to keep you going and happy!!!!!
