Some bonding time with the girls, the garden and good grubbin!!

As promised by the Weather Channel (see previous blog post) the weekend was GLORIOUS!!!  Actually Sunday was far nicer than Saturday….a picture perfect spring experience!

Caught in a bonding moment..Steve grabbed the camera the took this

Above: Meg (right) and her daughter Lillian (left) and I were chillin out on the mats in the front yard as I was combing Meg out getting her ready for her spring bath.  What you don’t see in this shot is the mountain of Chow fur behind me from my molting water buffalo/chows.  Steve grabbed the camera and got this rare shot of both chows together .  I’ll always treasure this moment with my dogs and this photo!!

A beautiful sunday and brunch at McMennamins Tavern Hillsboro

Steve and I went out for lunch yesterday and wanted to go to a place with outdoor dining.  We hadn’t been to McMennamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse in Hillsboro in ages and what a treat.  They had updated their outdoor area and the landscaping was spectacular!!! The forsythia (yellow shrub) was in full bloom and the magnolias budding out and ready to burst into flower.

The house is an historic 1840’s property and has been tastefully converted into tavern dining space…McMennamins brew their own beer and distill their spirits and are wine producers as well….and the food rocks from the funky designer burgers to “Northwest” style cuisine like the seared Ahi Tuna I had with wasabi and ginger!!  Yummers!!!

My wild trilliums returned this year after disappearing for 4 years!! So bizarre and an incredible sight to behold

The first of this year’s hellebore blooms starting to form a seed pod.  Very orchid like

Hi Sarah and Lois!! Thank you!!!! Every time I sit down on he mats with my dogs they love to butt me with their heads and try to push me over. Lillian gets jealous of Meg and backs up into me and sits in my lap if I pet Meg too long.

Ya gotta love all the Chow luvin!!!

I’m so jealous–on Sunday we had 8″ of heavy wet snow–2 hours of thunder snow and winds howling out of the northeast. Just a tiny 2 county swath across our state. Love the flowers, but love the girls the most!!!!

    Hi Sandy,
All the photos are great but the one of you and the dogs is perfect- it should be on the dust jacket of a book written by you! Jan
