Wow I didn’t realize how hard it would be to let our Escalade go. Our 4 year lease is up today and we are returning her. Before I hear screams of GAS GUZZLER and HOW COULD YOU DRIVE THAT THING (common phrases we hear driving down the road in Oregon..lol)….keep in mind we were hauling 4 dog crates full of our precious Chow cargo to shows every weekend. A smaller car just wasn’t an option
2 years ago that part of our life changed and today we are no longer showing dogs so it’s time to “Green it Up”. OMG you should see the cars we are looking at. I’ll update here soon on what we end up with. Scroll down for more
The last thing I asked Steve to do as he walked out the door to return the truck was to open the back hatch all the way then close it before he left the driveway.
Why???
I lost my dear Chow Magenta in my arms laying in my lap in the back as we drove to the emergency vet last year.
I know, it was a weird request but important to me. Had a good cry over her again too.
GOODBYE ESCALADE!! YOU ESCORTED OUR PRECIOUS FAMILY MANY SCENIC AND SAFE MILES!!!
Thats sad I liked that car Now you have a big decision. No car?
It still brings tears to my eyes that you are no longer breeding your beautiful Chows, and I cherish my guys even more. Can’t wait for you to see Ellie again, and hopefully to be bred in August. NM
why aren’t you showing anymore 🙁
I know mom…remember our road trip with you when we just bought the truck?
Nan and Lynda….we miss the litters and the shows so so so so so much!!! Mostly the little babies and raising them. They brought so much joy to this household.
My vision problems and our desire to travel more together made it hard to have a full fledged breeding program and showing became out of the question for me. It was like cutting my right arm off for a couple of years. I’ve shown and bred dogs all my life.
Now the panda and moonbears take over where the chows left off. Wish I could keep a pair of twin panda cubs at home!!
Sandy, Larry the car guy says have you looked at the Honda “Insight EX” yet. 42mpg apparently. Jan
I wouldn’t want to give up that ride either! They are wonderful (beside the mileage). But if you no longerneed the roominess, than it is good to give it up. I gave up a large SUV because I thought I no longer needed it, then I got a few Grandbabies, so I had to go back and upgrade to a bigger SUV agin, Funny how things work out sometimes!
Thanks Jan and Larry!!! We will look at the Insight today!!
Vonnie that’s what I’m afraid of..we will end up needing that room again. But I guess for a short term bigger car there’s always rental for a weekend every so often.
