Home STUDIO Steve had a “LIGHTBULB” moment!!!! Woo Hoo!!!

Steve had a “LIGHTBULB” moment!!!! Woo Hoo!!!

So back to where I left off with my studio  reorg………I have most of my beads now in the new bins again which are literally covering EVERY surface on 3 walls of my studio.  I still have another shipment of the 70 drawer units coming!! (and more beads on the way..shhhhhhhhhhhhh)

CAN YOU SEE THE REFLECTION OF MY BANANA TREE IN THE MIRROR OUTSIDE THE STUDIO WINDOW?

Inside the studio...some new bead bins....hundreds of new drawers!

As I wandered from drawer to drawer unit looking for things yesterday, I was getting so frustrated with the lighting.  With my bad eyes lighting is of utmost importance and there are “dead” spaces in the room even though I have incredible lights to start with…..  8 , 4 foot OTT light units AND swing arm lamps on the tables!!  They are awesome!

So I was pointing out to Steve what his weekend would entail…….going to Home Depot to purchase directional lighting for the ceiling…like little track lights or something that I could aim where I want them.

YOU CAN SEE WHERE I WANTED THEM…ON THE CEILING OVER THE YELLOW TABLE

Inside the studio...some new bead bins....hundreds of new drawers!

Well that man of mine can be VERY quick thinking on his feet when it comes to pulling an idea out of the hat that will save him a weekend of standing on a ladder and listening to my directions…I don’t blame him…lol.  Out of his mouth immediately came the suggestion…..”you need a light like the ones they use in a mine on a hardhat!  That way your light is with you all the time”

Ok…I shot that idea down pretty fast. I could just envision myself in a sweaty army surplus hardhat with all my layers of magnification, my dust mask., and safety goggles.  Lord it was not a good visual!!!

Steve immediately put my mind to ease with the solution below.  REI  has dozens of these lightweight headlamps you see in the images below!!  He saw them on the Amazing Race!

Inside the studio...My new headlamp..what a great find

Inside the studio...My new head lamp..what a great find!

The band is soft and adjustable, I forget I’m wearing it  the thing is so light!!! It has spot light beam, flood light, high, medium and soft light in each mode, the lamp tilts down and up for directional lighting…. and best of all…a flashing hazard light!!!! Steve thinks that should be on all the time!!! LOL!  All this for 35.00 and I can see better than I have in YEARS!!! I’m hooked!!  I want one of these implanted in my forehead permanently!!!!!  Thank you Steve!!!

BELOW ARE 2 PHOTOS OF MY SPECIES JAPANESE MAPLE.  THIS BEAUTY IS HUGE AND GORGEOUS AND JUST OUTSIDE OF MY STUDIO WINDOW

Great solution, but seriously I just want to hug your dog!!  She just looks so sweet and fluffy and soft.  I love my Chihuahua, but there is something about hugging a big dog that thinks they are a lap dog!  Kudos to Steve, with all of the savings that easily translates to bead money!! 😉

Sandy — My mom uses her head lamp all the time in the winter because it gets dark out early and she needs her hands to feed horses, walk dogs and carry water buckets. They’re not just for climbers and hikers. They should be sold at dog shows! I hope you are well. We haven’t chatted in so long! I did however, browse the beads in your new drawers last time I was there — your studio is so much fun. Happy November!!
