Some “corny” pix from the homestead

photo

What fun my family and I have been having so far!!! Today my son Bryan stopped by my moms house with a bag of fresh picked sweetcorn and we had a corn snack feast right there on the spot

Bling couldn’t resist a corny pose alongside of one of moms beautiful daylilies…….diana….tell jim his Iowa corn feast still holds the top notch the sweetcorn meter but had some serious competition today.

Sarah…email me if you see this post!

Pictured is my mom today in front of her stunning lilies….she took a shot of me too. My son designed this little side garden for mom this spring.

Last night my daughter liz and her fella andy brought me to their house and I got to see my only grandchild “eddie”. Yep…eddie is the cat!

The night before we were treated to an outstanding meal which I mentioned I’n my last post….the dessert were these fudgy Bonbons that blew us away

Will write tomorrow……biggest of hugs

is a sweet corn feast a real midwest thing or what??? i love it.  my brother lives adjacent to a huge sweetcorn field and we climb the fence with our old pillow cases and fill them.  then back to the house for a huge sweet corn feast….lotsa butter!!!  and thats all…..nothing else…maybe a cold beer from a local micro brewery and we are set!!!   …I adore your moms blouse….looks like Chico’s!!!  she sure is a classy lookin gal!!!  you look like a little girl back home sittin in Mom’s garden.  Could Liz and Andy have bluer eyes??  wow!    Love the furry grandchild and i NEED one of those Bon Bons right this minute!!!!  yummmmmmmmmmmmmmm

    Hey Sarah, Kathe and Nan!!!
Sarah…I’ll email you now…glad you saw my post. I thought I had your email addie in the new Iphone but for some reason it wasn’t there
Kathe…omg did that corn taste good.  THANK YOU for the sweet words about Liz and mom…..mom got that blouse in Portland and it’s her very favorite.  She will be happy to hear you like it!
Nan,…oh boy I think I do come by it honestly.  My dad and mom both big gardeners.  I have pix of me standing in my dads garden when I was 5…you could hardly see me it was so tall and full of blooms

Hi Sandy! Looks like you’re having a great time with your family! You look so cute sitting by the lilies, hope your eye has been healing. I like your furry grandchild, my parents only had “GrandChows” for a lot of years before we had Ava!

Hey Sandy, just a quick heads up. If you emailed me I didn’t get it (yet). Don’t know if it got lost in the shuffle or if it was even sent yet since I’m sure you’re busy with family. Would love to try to catch up though if we can. Let me know honey! <3
