AFTER FIRING...SOME CHANGES

Well here she is..and as I said….things can change and DID!

The first thing you will notice is that the blues have softened from the before firing state. I expected this since intense colors are the first to be affected by repeated visits to the intense heat of the kiln.

Also..the "moon" in the upper right of the central pendant has shifted color….this was most likely from the silver and not so much the heat alone…..a change that has happened to me before with this combination.

Good note keeping is essential in fusing if you ever want to have even a micron of predictability in the outcome.

The fine silver at this point is what is called "sintered". Now I will brush, buff, polish sand some more and put these pieces one at a time into the rock tumbler for 1/2 hour to 4 hours…depending on how it looks as I check on it. (every 20 minutes or so).
