Great shot!!...I've only seen 2 blue jays in my yard ...do they require something other than wild seed? Love watching them!

I always wondered what a scrub jay looked like.

PG...my jays love whole peanuts (they shove 3 or 4 in their moutn shell and all and fly away. Also Black oil sunflower seed, dried fruit, any kind of nuts really. Also something that keeps them busy for hours is to nail whole cobs of dried corn to the fence or feeder. It' takes them longer to eat the corn than loose kernels which they will demolish in minutes. Gets really expensive. We have scrub jays and stellar jays here in Portland. Really neat birds but very messy and loud
