"ICED JASMINE TEA" Art Glass panda pendant by Sandra Miller ©2008
Little Jassie has been adopted by a wonderful new mom!!
This knock em out piece was inspired by my love of tea, pandas and lifes little "take me away" rituals!!
I adore tea and iced all the better! A few weeks ago I was filling a glass with white jasmine brewed tea I had gotten in Chengdu in February.
As the fragrant brew burbled through the icecubes…very pale in color, I could see I also had a pendant in the making. The spark was instant and I headed to the kiln!
The background glass as you can see is clear with inclusions of gold, bronze and silver metallic dust that catches the light as well as well as reflecting the transparent green inclusions that I fired in as well.
The beautiful panda who I’ve affectionatly named "Jasmine" is munching daintily on her bamboo and Im sure somewhere she has a tall glass of iced tea to sip on in the steamy Sichuan summer sun!
This is a nice substantial pendant measuring almost 3" long and comes with a black rubber and sterling cord necklace or a silver rigid neckwire.
