Another chunk bites the dust
Recently after a trip out of town we came home to our oldest "old growth" Douglas fir losing needles during a hot spell.
After a visit from the tree doctor we discovered our 200 year old giant had root rot and had to come out asap.
I am just sick….I am writing as they are taking my poor old tree out of her misery with chainsaws and hatchets.
Last night Bling Bling and I had a memorial for our stately tree as I set up a shrine and incense. Bling was so overcome with greif she even hugged the tree (see other images)
We will miss your shelter and shade my friend but you will not be forgotten. The tree guys promised to leave me a table high stump and I will make stools from the branches. This will be my new morning coffee sitting spot
