"Lover" the baby robin..rest in peace dear baby

I am just sick..this baby robin had just left his nest in my "Romantika" clematis…it’s why I called him "Lover"

His mom was feeding him on the ground in my front yard and in this shot I was no more than 3 feed from him sitting and talking to the little man and cooing to him. His eye were getting heavy and he eventually fell asleep.

No more than 10 minutes after this shot was taken, "Lover" must have slithered under my fence and one of my dogs killed him. I don’t blame the dogs…it’s just instinct but I cried like a baby for an hour.
