NEAR HANOI VIETNAM DURING TET/NEW YEAR 2005
WE PURCHASED SOME WONDERFUL SILK ITEMS AND PENDANTS ON THIS LITTLE BOAT PADDLING THROUGH THE RICE PADDIES!!!
EVERY SO OFTEN ANOTHER BOAT WOULD PULL UP BESIDE US AND A GIRL WOULD HOP ONTO OUR BOAT AND BRING OUR HER BAG OF GOODIES TO SELL.
THE GIRL "DRIVING" THE BOAT BEHIND STEVE WAS SO IN LOVE WITH THE FUSED GLASS PENDANT I WAS WEARING THAT I GAVE IT TO HER AT THE END OF THE ALL DAY JOURNEY. SHE SPOKE NO ENGLISH BUT KEPT COOING OVER THE PENDANT. SHE WAS SO SWEET.
I’M SURE SHE PROBABLY SOLD IT LATER BUT THAT’S OK. THESE FAMILIES WORK SO INCREDIBLY HARD TO MAKE ENDS MEET.

I'm the same way Marius. Thats part of the reason I bought the Canon IXUS when we were in China. There are some days when it's too wet or just impossible to carry the SLR around. We found in Asia....especially China, that we needed a small unnoticable camera or a REALLY long lens to take certain people pix.
A lot of the older folks hated cameras and would cover their faces if they saw us taking a photo. On the other hand the children beg to have their photos taken and get so excited when they see their photo on the screen!

Hat suits you ! Must have been a great experience ! I always have a little pocket camera if I get someone else to take a photo for me as handing over my EOS upsets me ! .........OK scares me, I wiry about the insurance cover ! :-(( .
