I absolutley adore creating these kind of limited production jewelry pieces!!!.  I could never dream of doing "only one", as they take a long time to work out the design, perfect the technique and have the materials on hand.

These light as a feather  earrings are limited to 12 pair, based on the number of antique 1920's crystals I had on hand from an estate sale find!!!!  You can see the earring set in the photo below.

Hello friends!!!  As we head into the Labor Day holiday weekend I wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy time!!!  Its hard to believe this summer is over so fast….with our "Juneuary" here in Oregon it seems it has only gotten started!!

My next news is that I will be spending the next two weeks visiting my family in Minnesota…YAAAAAY!!!  Steve is staying home with Lil and Gracie while I get to go play at the Renaissance Festival, pick apples at the Arboretum and eat some of the very best Vietnamese food in the USA with my mom and kids!!  I adore the midwest in the autumn and have a couple of photo shoots lined up for my stay too!!  Can't wait to see everyone!!
 
ABOVE:  My mom and dad made a lot of these road signs and took a day and put them up from Hettinger N.D.to Baker, Montana.
This was back in the 1950's and now their pottery is the famous "Ceramics by Messer" and highly sought after
 
 
I will be blogging all the time so stay tuned.  Mom and I have plans to photograph all of their CERAMICS BY MESSER (from the infamous ND Pot Shop) to finally do that DVD and book we have been talking about. More on that later and a sneek preview of a couple of pieces while there too!!

WOW …..these are some of the most boo-tiful earrings I've ever done for more than one reason.

FIRST, this is a fundraiser. You know how I love to do panda fundraisers!!! US $5.00 of the profit from each of these pair of earrings sold, will go towards Pandas Internationals Bamboo Project (READ MORE BELOW)

SECOND…..they are absolutely as light as a feather on your ears!! This is a hard quality to find in a longer pair of earrings !! You will hardly know you are wearing them, yet they are waterproof and sturdy, created in polymer clay and shiny resin.

THIRD…this is the perfect gift item , as they come in a gift packet I designed which protect this beautiful pair of panda cubs while you are not wearing them (which will be as rare as the pandas themselves!)

I started with a square artwork I designed specifically to be cut in half to display one perfect panda in the bamboo, on each earring. A duo of coordinating pandas known as a diptych.

After permanently transferring each wee artwork to polymer clay I fire them to create the ear drop, then coat in 2 glossy hard layers of resin, encasing and magnifying the artwork . The colors absolutely pop, giving the design dimensional quality

The long slender shape of the earrings is reminiscent of a Chinese wall scroll. They frame the face sooooo beautifully. I need to get a model to wear these for me to photograph to show you what a knockout wearable art statement these are!

The ear wires are black enameled French hooks which really kick up the artsy vibe a notch. If you prefer silver surgical steel I can change them out. Just let me know!
