Cameras are one of my passions and something that never became an integral part of my artwork until “digital” came along. The instant gratification that comes along with seeing your images within moments of capturing them , is right up my alley. I never was a good one for waiting to have prints developed, and don’t have the extra room to do film processing myself.

I never once thought I would get hooked on cameras but I’m a hopeless addict. Each bigger, badder, better Canon camera that hits the shelves, I yearn for and start saving my money like crazy until I can lay cash down on the table for it at our PRO PHOTO SUPPLY

This baby is not a point and shoot by any means but worth the big learning curve
My CANON 40D is not that old but I just keep wanting to move ahead with my photography, and my special needs with my eyes were a perfect match to this new and innovative auto focus system on the 7D. Wow I’m glad I got it now before we go on our next vacation. It will take me a couple of months to program all the customizable “bells and whistles” . I”m so excited I can hardly stand it!
My trusty 40 D will now be hanging off one shoulder with my macro or wide angle lens, the new 7D over the other with my zoom. Now I need to start saving for a tag along masseuse to keep my shoulders in shape to carry these cameras, gear, my stick and a backpack. If I fall over I’ll be like a turtle on it’s back!

There is nothing like going a little bananas over the weekend is there?? Check this out you guys. The ABOVE image is of my banana tree taken today and below is around September LAST year. Wow did this tree grow a ton this season!
Considering the banana trees are cut to the ground every November this is an incredible feat of botanical magic. I do help it along with some awesome Bat Guano and bone meal…the same as what I feed the cannas which will bloom in a few weeks or so

Above are some photos I took today on our 60 degree morning walk in a local park full of mosses and lichens. It’s kind of a boggy area and in the summer the mosses are quite dry…….but in winter they are an emerald vision!
And I’m sure you noticed by now the new banner at the blog homepage and the shopping cart icon!! I just installed a new website directly in GRAFFITI GOSSIP and on my FACEBOOK page as well. This is quite possibly the most frightening photo I have ever had taken on my travels. THANKS STEVE!!! LOL!
The past 3 days have been a blast with lots of beach time to pass the hours and visits to nearby Newport where there is a butterfly garden and of course the wonderful California sealions who have taken up summer residence on the fishing docks
I’ve taken so many awesome photos on this trip so far that I decided it would be easier to embed the Flickr Slideshow than to try to load all the photos individually into the blog post which can take hours on this slow laptop. Everywhere you look the sea, sand and countryside sparks the creative fire. I’m anxious to start creating with my new finds and ideas using my images as a starting block.

ABOVE IS A STACKED STONE INTERPERETATION AS YOU WOULD SEE ON THE OREGON COAST…AND MANY OTHER LOCATIONS AROUND THE WORLD. IN MANY PLACES, STACKING STONES IS CONSIDERED A GOOD WAY TO PROTECT THE HOME AND WARD OFF BAD ENERGY. i LOVE THIS PIECE AND AM EXCITED TO RUN WITH THIS IDEA.

Hopefully just looking at a few of my pix from yesterday tells the story of what a beautiful paradise we are in at Agate Beach Oregon! You will find much more on my facebook profile page and I will be posting in the right column my Sandra Miller Studio page starting today too!
The tidepools here are phenomenal. The pix below are from low tide last evening about 6:30, and I just came back from a 3 hour stroll early this morning loaded with hundreds more images!!! The beach is completely deserted!!! I hope to be able to post a “sounds of the tidepools” video tomorrow so you can hear the wonderful clicks and sizzles that come from the living cliffs full of starfish and mussles and sealife at lowtide.
